In this workshop you will learn about the incredible benefits laughter has on the mind, body and soul. If you are feeling stressed, anxious or would just like to just add more laughter and joy into your life, try a Laughter Yoga class. It is a unique exercise routine developed by Indian physician Dr. Madan Kataria. It combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing (Pranayama).

🙃 Anyone can laugh without relying on jokes, humor or comedy. People laugh as a form of exercise in a group which becomes real and contagious. Scientific studies have shown that even voluntary laughter has similar health benefits.
What happens in a laughter wellness session?

In this workshop you will be guided through warm-up exercises, laughter exercises, and deep breathing exercises. Throughout the exercises, positive energy builds and positive feelings emerge. Come and experience this very fun and interactive workshop in a safe space that allows you to feel more joyful and connected!
We will be doing both seated and standing exercises, however if you have any mobility issues, you can remain seated. Absolutely no yoga experience needed, only your willingness to let loose, relax and enjoy the feelings of pure joy and connection!

Aileen Borruel is the founder of Joyful Connections. She is an enthusiastic workshop facilitator, mama of 4 little ones, a Certified Laughter Yoga Instructor and has a Bachelor in Social Work and DEC in Special Care Counselling. She has found her passion in uplifting others by spreading more joy, laughter and positive energy through her wellness workshops and programs she offers to various organizations.
